The Iturrama Sheltered Accommodation is in Pamplona, in the Iturrama neighbourhood, close to the Navarre Hospital Complex, the health centre and the bus station. There are taxi ranks and other public transport options nearby. There are both blue and orange zone parking spots in the vicinity.
This accommodation is designed for people with a mild or moderate degree of disability who are independent and have a certain level of ability to live independently with support.
These sheltered accommodation facilities are an option for people with a moderate level of disability. They encourage residents to form relationships and to live together in a family-type setting, giving users the highest possible level of independence.
They receive care and attention 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. This means that residents can carry out everyday tasks as though they were at home, which includes cleaning and caring for the rooms, personal hygiene, caring for their clothes, dealing with household waste and personal shopping.
With supervision and support, the aim is to improve their quality of life. To achieve this, users are provided with the resources they need to lead the most independent life possible, encouraging their integration in the neighbourhood, community and their surroundings in the most natural way possible.
All residents of these flats have jobs. Many of them work at occupational centres, but some of them even have regular jobs in ordinary companies. This independence extends to allowing them to decide when they will go out, when they will come home and to use public transport. They are able to manage money and go shopping, and just like everyone else, to experience the joy and pain of personal and sentimental relationships.
There are provided with educational workshops for cognitive stimulation and life management skills, as well as leisure activities which form part of an independent lifestyle. In the best of cases, users are eventually able to move into completely private accommodation and require no further help.
Iturrama Sheltered Accommodation is owned by the Gobierno de Navarra and is managed by SARquavitae. All places are subsidised.
